Hydraulic System

A shipboard hydraulic energy is used to drive various elements. The use of fluids avoids many of the problems of electricity, especially when the teams work in places exposed to the elements. When it comes to fluids, in our case we will refer to hydraulic oil. Understand basic hydraulic systems and components can be useful when troubleshooting failures that may occur in normal use.

The pump is the heart of any hydraulic system, therefore, when something goes wrong in the system, the pump is usually the one that receives the blame. It is actually unusual for a pump failure or system is caused by the same. Generally, when a malfunctioning pump, this is a symptom of some underlying problem elsewhere in the system
